The Port Alberni RCMP continues their investigation into the armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 13 at the Petro Canada station at the corner River Road and Beaver Creek Road.

A lone male brandishing a weapon entered the station just after 10 p.m. that night and demanded money from the attendant at the front cash register.

Police are asking the public to view a still photo that was obtained from the gas station’s video system that depicts the suspect entering the building.

While the image is of fairly low quality and confirms that the male was well disguised during the crime, police are hoping that someone may have seen this suspect moments before or after the robbery, and can provide the information needed to advance the investigation.

Police are also interested in speaking with the occupants of a red Pontiac Sunfire that was observed parked near the pumps in the identified time frame surrounding the robbery.

The people associated to this vehicle are not persons of interest, but rather possible witnesses that police wish to speak to.

If anyone has information to provide about this robbery, they are asked to contact the Port Alberni RCMP at 723-2424, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
